Showing appreciation
In normal circumstances and receiving presents Uzbeks say:
Rahmat!
Katta rahmat! Arzimaydi. |
Thank you!
Thanks a lot! That’s all right. It is not worth it to mention./It is nothing. |
Other phrases are used only in formal occasions and rarely:
Tashakkur!
Minnatdorman! |
Thank you!
I really appreciate it. |
When somebody prepares for your food, it is good to make a compliment and show your appreciation.
Qo’lingiz dard ko’rmasin!
Ovqat juda mazali bo’libdi! Osh bo’lsin! |
May your hands to be healthy all the time!
The food was delicious! Bon appetite! (response to appreciation) |
